So, what am I going to do with my life?
I’ve gotten the same bloody question at every job interview I’ve ever had: “Where do you see yourself in five years?”
Every time I’ve been asked this in the past, my gut reaction has been to reply, “Not here.” But things have taken a turn for the better in recent years, ever since IBM decided to offer me a severance package one week before I was going to give notice to start my new career as a stay-at-home dad (thanks, Big Blue). I’ve gotten quite accustomed to not having a proper office and being able to spend time with my kids and watch them grow up, so for the next five years I simply want more of that, please.
But I’d also like to start exploring my musical side a bit more, and I’d like to explore the possibility of having that musical side eventually generating an income so I can eventually start cutting back on the freelance work I have to do on the side in order to afford my layabout lifestyle.
So, for the next five years I guess I want to use this site to promote the hell out of my music and hope that maybe it’ll start paying my rent. The old saying says that if I do what I love the money should follow, so hopefully there’s something to that.
